49th LD Candidates Better Together

Jim Moeller & Sharon Wylie give a rallying call to volunteers

The 49th Legislative District Democrats held their regular monthly meeting on Saturday, June 14th - but there wasn't much that was "regular" about it. Last year the 49th LD began planning for a new kind of coordinated campaign; one that utilizes each volunteer's "superpower", as Noland Hoshino so eloquently puts it, to rally around their legislative candidates and accomplish campaign goals in cooperation with their campaigns. The idea is that when we work together, the benefit that we get out of limited resources becomes exponential.

This last Saturday was the combined Field Campaign Kick-off for Sharon Wylie and Jim Moeller's campaigns, completely planned and executed through unprecedented cooperation between the two campaigns and the 49th LD group dubbed "Better Together". In all, 12 door knockers were dispatched to local communities (along with Jim & Sharon) and even kept a few back to make much needed phone calls to constituents.

Suffice to say, the first test of this new idea was an astounding success, and there is much more to come. The Better Together group is planning the next coordinated canvass/phone bank for Friday, June 27. Volunteers will be meeting at Jim Moeller's residence for door knocking, or at the CCDCC office for phone calling at 11:00 am.
